School Meals & Lunch Menus

Pupils can enjoy their hot cooked meal or their packed lunch dining in our restaurant and our hot lunches are prepared and cooked by Edwards and Ward.

All meals must be booked and paid for in advance unless Years Reception – Years 2 or if you are in receipt of Free School Meals

Healthy Eating

We promote healthy eating at Grendon, so if you are making your child a packed lunch then please consider the sugar content of your child’s lunch boxes.  No chocolate or sweets please.

Free School Meals

Children in Reception, Year 1 & 2 are entitled to free school meals under the UiFSM Government scheme.

Your child may be entitled to free school meals past this age if you or you partner receive any of the following benefits:

Do you qualify?

You can register your child for Free School Meals if you get any of these benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit except if you meet ANY of the following criteria –

i) entitled to working tax credit (regardless of income)

ii) have an annual income in excess of £16,190 (Please note that this figure is for April 2013 and that it changes in April each year).
  • Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Register now to make sure we don’t miss out, Please register now even if your child is in Key Stage 1 and receives a “universal free school meal.

To pay for hot meals, please log into your Parent Pay account:

www.parentpay.com

All meals are charged at £2.70 per meal, per day for all KS2 children unless your child qualifies for free school meals.  Charges are uploaded to your ParentPay account.  Children in Reception, Year 1 & 2 are eligible for free education under the UiSFM Government scheme.
